The Re-animator (1985) gets a 7.5/10. Watching this movie came as a suggestion from a friend.
Now, I am a fan of H.P Lovecraft and can admit that part of wanting to see this was that it was based off a story of his. Another reason was that this movie has a cult following. I can see why. It’s good, but you should know what you’re getting yourself into if you haven’t watched it yet.
It’s imaginative and it’s got lots and lots of gore. It’s got gore from the eye popping opening scene to the bloody meet down at the morgue near the end. Some will find it gross or even over the top, but some like that kinda stuff, especially if it involves zombies. And it’s not completely brainless. I mean. There are holes in the medical aspect of this flick. But set that aside and you’ve got an interesting and entertaining story about an intense madman in the pursuit of scientific breakthrough in bringing the dead back to life.
Also, as a side note, this movie came up as having one of the more offensive scenes amongst horror movies... Having seen this movie, I could see why some would say that!
