'Source Code' - interesting, if somewhat repetitive

For those of you who are fans of Jake Gyllenhaal, you may want to check out 'Source Code'. Looking for explosions? Got 'em! Looking for time travel? Got it (kinda)! Looking for more explosions? Well ok, it's the same explosion again and again, but still...!

This is the plot: Jake's character, Colter Stevens, awakens on a train bound for Chicago that is doomed to be destroyed in a terrorist bombing. His mission: to find the bomber before the next bomb is detonated in the city. Without giving too much away (and here's the pseudo-time-travel part), Jake's character is not really on the train. Intrigued? You should be!

How his character races to find the bomber is a little manic (some might say psychotic), but Jake is charming and enthusiastic all the way, which is what we have come to expect from this actor, famous for roles in such movies as Brokeback Mountain, Donnie Darko, Love and Other Drugs, and Jarhead.

Vera Farmiga, who plays Colleen Goodwin, steals her scenes in this movie. Vera can also be seen in The Departed, Orphan, and Up In The Air.

Overall, I would give this movie a 7/10,  it's enjoyable, but definitely a rental.
